College baseball regionals: Batista, Miami walk off to Super Regionals

Miami fans may have been biting their nails when the Canes allowed Long Beach State to tie up the game in the eighth inning.

The host of the Coral Gables Regional could become the champions of the Coral Gables Regional with a win, but, with the score knotted at eight going into the final inning, neither side could feel comfortable.

With two outs and a runner on third, Randy Batista, who was 0-for-10 on Saturday and Sunday, came to the plate.

The junior lifted the second pitch to the perfect spot between center and right field to drive home the winning run and punch Miami's ticket to the Super Regionals.

Miami will host Oxford Regional Champion Boston College next for a trip to Omaha.
