The kickoff to the collegiate baseball season is drawing near and some teams are taking that as a chance to have some good, old-fashioned fun ahead of the season’s start.
Games start on Friday for the Arizona Wildcats, as they host Eastern Kentucky for a four-game set to start the year, but that doesn’t mean the boys can’t have some fun in the interim. Right? Case in point, the team did a mini riff on the classic sports film, Major League.
Looks like the boys had some fun with this one too as they recreated a few scenes and took turns impersonating various characters from the 1989 film.
Major League details a season in the life of a fictionalized version of Major League Baseball’s Cleveland Indians, and parts were filmed at Hi Corbett field, which Arizona has called its home Stadium since 2012. The film became an inspiration for the city and its fans, given the long-standing professional sports championship drought that lasted from 1964-2016.
Baseball is just a few short days away.
