With one swing of the bat, Florida catcher J.J. Schwarz turned what would've been a second straight gut-wrenching conference loss into a dramatic series win.
Schwarz stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and the Gators down 5-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning against SEC rival South Carolina. On a 1-0 pitch, Schwarz hammered the next delivery into the left field bleachers to give Florida its first lead of the game. The Gators held the Gamecocks scoreless in the next frame to clinch the 7-5 victory.

Schwarz's big hit came a day after Florida failed to drive anyone home with the bases loaded in the eighth inning of a 4-2 loss to South Carolina on Friday. The Gators did not waste their second chance on Saturday.
