Davidson hits HRs from both sides of the plate in same inning

The College World Series is near

The legend of Logan Davidson keeps growing.

Just six days after becoming the first Clemson player to hit a home run from both sides of the plate in the same game during the Tigers’ 16-6 win over Pittsburgh, Davidson decided he could one-up that feat.

He did it again Wednesday afternoon. In the same inning.

In a fourth inning where Clemson’s offense erupted for 17 runs, Davidson hit homers from both the left and right side, including a grand slam, as the Tigers eased to a 21-4 victory over Notre Dame in the ACC tournament.

The 17 runs scored by Clemson in the fourth inning broke the previous single-inning ACC tournament record (14). The Tigers recorded 11 hits — including four homers — and seven walks in the frame. Clemson also took advantage of nine Notre Dame wild pitches in the inning.

Davidson, a sophomore shortstop, now has 15 home runs on the season as Clemson continues pool play in the conference tournament. The Tigers will face Miami Thursday night in Durham, N.C., with first pitch slated for 7 p.m. ET.
