FSU's Martin wins No. 1,800; UIC opens Granderson Stadium
|1||Cal Poly's Matt Imhof and Danny Zandona combined on a four-hitter as the Mustangs blanked Cal State Fullerton 8-0 Thursday night before 2,402 in Baggett Stadium. The win marked the Mustangs' first shutout against the Titans in their 20-year Division I history.|
Austin Peay's Alex Robles twirled a complete-game one-hitter in a 3-0 victory against Belmont on Thursday. He struck out a career-high nine batters in the contest, allowing one hit and two walks, facing three more batters than the minimum. The one-hitter was the first by a Govs pitcher since 1997 when Craig Smith tossed a one-hitter in a seven-inning contest against Morehead State.
In front of its largest home crowd in two seasons, Missouri State sent the masses home happy with a memorable all-around performance and a 9-0 victory against Missouri last Tuesday. The Bears pounded out nine of their 15 hits to score seven times in the third and fourth innings, then relied on the pitching of Andy Cheray and two relievers to log just the second shutout victory in their 48-game series with the Tigers.
The Citadel defeated South Carolina 10-8 on Wednesday. The Bulldogs last win against S.C. came on April 12, 2011. The loss marked the first time the Gamecocks have lost four games in a row since 2009.
Creighton tallied 19 hits in a 12-6 win at Villanova on Friday. Mike Gerber led the Bluejays with a 5-for-5 day at the plate, marking the first time a Creighton player collected five hits in one game since Vicente Cafaro did so against Nebraska on May 7, 2009.
Charleston Southern beat No. 6 South Carolina for the first time since 2003 on Tuesday. The No. 6 ranking ties the highest for a team Charleston Southern has beaten. The Bucs also topped a No. 6-ranked Florida team in 2010.
Lamar beat Rice 10-1 last Tuesday. The nine-run margin of victory was the most by the Cardinals against the Owls since 1985.
Vanderbilt cruised to a 19-1 win against Middle Tennessee on Tuesday. The Commodores scored 10 runs in the sixth inning, marking the most in an inning by Vandy since scoring 11 against Tennessee in 2011.
FIU's Mike Franco tossed his second complete game in a row in a 6-0 win against Florida Atlantic on Friday. The win marked the 12th shutout of the season for the Panthers, which extended their Conference USA single-season record.
Liberty broke a 1-1 tie with three runs in the ninth inning to beat Gardner-Webb on Friday. The win was a program-record 14th consecutive in Big South play.

|20||Four Cal Poly pitchers combined to strike out 20 Cal State Fullerton batters on Friday -- a school Division I record. It was the third 13-inning game played in Baggett Stadium's 14-year history. The other two were against UC Davis in 2005 and '13. The 4-hour, 18-minute contest was almost an hour shy of the Baggett Stadium record.|

|1,000||Coastal Carolina treated its head coach Gary Gilmore to a dramatic 4-3 win in 13 innings versus Presbyterian on Thursday afternoon to give the 25-year skipper his 1,000th career victory. He is the 50th Division I coach to reach 1,000 career wins and is one of 16 active coaches to reach the milestone. Ironically, Gilmore's first win came versus Presbyterian in 1990 in his first game as a head coach at South Carolina-Aiken.|
|1,800||Florida State defeated Wake Forest 4-3 in 13 innings on Satuday. The win gave head coach Mike Martin career win No. 1,800, making him just the third coach in Division I history to reach that historic milestone. Martin joins Texas' Augie Garrido and Wichita State's Gene Stephenson on that list.|
|5,000,000||Curtis Granderson Stadium, on the campus of Illinois-Chicago, officially opened on Thursday in front more than 800 friends and family of UIC baseball who were on-hand for the series opener against Wright State. Granderson, a Flames’ Hall of Famer and current New York Mets outfielder, was in attendance to throw out the first pitch and cut the ribbon for the $10 million stadium. Granderson’s gift of $5 million to UIC is the largest known one-time donation from a professional athlete to their alma mater, according to Sports Illustrated.|
