The UW-River Falls Falcons men's basketball team knocked off the defending national champions and current No. 1 team UW-Stevens Point Pointers 73-60 Saturday afternoon at the Karges Center.

River Falls opened the game on a 16-4 run sparked by two 3-pointers from Aaron Anderson. After a Pointer timeout, UWSP scored the next five points to trim the lead to seven. Over the next 12 minutes the Pointers went on a 27-9 run to take a six-point lead.

The Falcons (6-2) added the last five points before the half, capped by another Anderson three, to put the halftime score at 31-30 UWSP.
