Shelden Williams secured his 31st double-figure scoring game of the season and 68th of his career and had 13 points by halftime. Williams recorded at least seven rebounds for the 62nd time in his last 79 games. Williams reached four steals for the sixth time this season. Williams fouled out for the third time this season and the 14th in his career. Williams moved into fifth on the school's single-season rebound list with 369.

MICHIGAN STATE NOTES: Michigan State is now 25-5, while making their fifth NCAA Elite Eight appearance under Tom Izzo. The Spartans are now 5-2 on neutral floors this season. Michigan State is 39-17 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, and has reached the Elite 8 for the second time in the last two years. Michigan State is now 3-1 in NCAA Tournament play in the state of Texas and 1-0 in Austin. Michigan State is 3-1 against ranked opponents this season and is 52-47 under Tom Izzo.

Davis recorded the 11th double-double of his career and his12th career double-figure rebounding game. Davis has reached double-figure scoring in seven of his eight career NCAA Tournament games (six straight). Davis reached 12 rebounds for the fifth time this season. Davis' eight made free throws are a season high.

Shannon Brown reached double figures in scoring for the 19th time this season and 30th in his career.

FIRST HALF NOTES: (Duke 32, Michigan State 32): Duke opened the game on a 4-0 run that was extended to 8-2 at 17:41. Michigan State followed with a 6-0 run to tie the game 8-8 with 16:26. In the first seven minutes, Michigan State had 16 field goal attempts to Duke's eight and the Spartans had six offensive rebounds to none for Duke in that span. Duke's J.J Redick scored his first basket of the game at the 10:46 mark. In the first 10 minutes, Michigan State had 22 field goal attempts to Duke's 11. Michigan State had six steals in the first 12:15 by five different players. The Spartans finished the half with eight steals, more than 14 of their 30 full games. The first made three-pointer of the game came at 6:56 by Duke's J.J. Redick, the teams had been a combined 0-7. After being tied at 18, Duke went on a 7-1 run with 6:27 to go. Michigan State ended the half with a 13-8 advantage. Duke led first half field goal percentage .500 to .361. Duke finished the half with 12 turnovers equaling or greater than 13 full games this season. Michigan State never led in the first half, there were three ties. Michigan State followed with its second consecutive three-pointer to take its first lead of the game at 38-36 with 17:02 left. The baskets were part of a 10-0 run over a two-minute stretch. Duke was held scoreless for 4:52. Alan Anderson's three-pointer with 11:52 to go gave Michigan State its largest lead of nine at 48-39 until the final score of 10. Duke cut the lead to two at 60-58 with 6:04 to go.
