MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota star Trevor Mbakwe’s status with the team is being reviewed following an arrest for an alleged violation of a restraining order against the junior forward.

Athletics director Joel Maturi said in an e-mail Tuesday afternoon that a decision about Mbakwe’s availability for the next game had not been made.

The Gophers host eighth-ranked Purdue on Thursday night.

Mbakwe leads the Gophers with 13.4 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. He was taken to jail Monday night on misdemeanor charges for allegedly posting a message on the Facebook page of a woman who had previously filed a restraining order against him.
