WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- CIAA champion Shaw turned in a dominating second half performance to smoke conference rival Winston-Salem State 75-47.

The Bears, who had split the regular-season series with the Rams, led just 28-24 at intermission but held Winston-Salem State to just 6 second half field goals – including an 0-for-11 showing from behind the 3-point arc – to move into Sunday’s semifinal against No. 1-ranked West Liberty.

Greg Thomas and David Jones came off the bench to lead a balanced attack for Shaw. Thomas scored a game-high 15 points while Jones added a dozen as the pair combined for 12-of-15 shooting from the floor.

Andrew Jackson and Shelton Carter led the Rams with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
