Purdue suspends Barlow for season
Sophomore guard suspended for conduct detrimental to team
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Purdue sophomore guard Kelsey Barlow has been suspended for the remainder of the 2010-11 season for conduct detrimental to the team, head coach Matt Painter announced on Tuesday.
Barlow averaged 5.1 points per game while averaging nearly 20 minutes per game for the Boilermakers.
“We’re committed to helping our players develop both on and off the court,” Painter said. “This is unfortunate and disappointing, but we’ll move forward as a team.”
Purdue, the No. 3 seed in the Southwest Region, will face No. 14 seed Saint Peter’s on Friday in second-round NCAA tournament action. TNT will televise the action live from the United Center at 7:20 p.m. ET.
