BAYAMON, Puerto Rico -- Top-ranked West Liberty (9-0) put on a show in its first trip to the Caribbean with a 143-77 blowout of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (2-6) on Monday.

Coach Jim Crutchfield's high-flying Hilltoppers put eight players in double figures and scored a season-high 143 points.

Alex Falk scored the Hilltoppers' first 12 points before Tim Hausfeld scored a 3-pointer for a 15-5 WLU lead less than four minutes after the opening tip.

Shooting better than 60 percent from the floor – including a 10-of-19 showing from behind the 3-point arc – while forcing 20 P.R.-Mayaguez turnovers in the first half, West Liberty pushed the margin to 47-11 on a Bubby Goodwin 3-pointer as the clock ticked past the 10-minute mark. The margin stretched as high as 50 points before WLU settled for an 84-38 halftime lead.

The Hilltoppers led by as many as 68 points in the second half.

Seger Bonifant led the West Liberty scoring parade with 20 points -- on 7-of-7 shooting from the floor -- while Shawn Dyer notched the first double-double of his career with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Falk and Nick Brown finished with 18 and 17 points, respectively, while Keene Cockburn added 15 points. C.J. Hester and Mike Lamberti tossed in 13 points each while Jeff Yunetz rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.

Julian Rodriguez and Mario Diaz paced P.R.-Mayaguez with 18 and 17 points, respectively.
