HOUSTON -- Mike Rhoades will be the new men's head basketball coach at Rice.
School officials on Wednesday announced that they had hired Rhoades, the associate head coach at VCU. The Rams went 137-46 during his five seasons at VCU, including a trip to the 2011 Final Four.
Rhoades takes over for Ben Braun, who resigned March 13 after the Owls finished the season at 7-23.
Rhodes will formally be introduced during a news conference Thursday afternoon in Houston.
