EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Shawn Dyer scored 22 of his 30 points in the second half to lead West Liberty to an 86-83 win against South Carolina-Aiken on Thursday night in the Division II semifinals. The Hilltoppers (31-3) will play for the national championship on Saturday afternoon against Central Missouri at 3 p.m. ET on CBS.
Dyer was 9-of-15 from the field and 11-of-15 from the line to lead all scorers in the game. All-American Cedric Harris added 16 points and five assists and Devin Hoehn added 15 points. Keene Cockburn pulled down 13 rebounds, including several key defensive boards down the stretch, to help the 'Toppers advance to the finals for the first time in school history.
South Carolina-Aiken was led by Devontae Wright's 19 points, but was held to just four in the second half. Ronald Zimmerman was held to just 13 points before fouling out and Shane Porchea and Paul Larsen each chipped in 12 points.
