Joe Kay | The Associated Press | April 12, 2014 Xavier forward Martin to transfer for final season Share CINCINNATI -- Xavier forward Justin Martin has decided to transfer for his final season, leaving the Musketeers without the top two scorers from last season's NCAA tournament team. A redshirt junior, Martin will complete his undergraduate degree. Xavier announced Friday that he has permission to look for another school. As a graduate student, he won't have to sit out a season. Martin averaged 11.7 points and 5.2 rebounds last season, when Xavier went 21-13 and lost to NC State in an opening NCAA tournament game in Dayton, Ohio. The Musketeers also have lost leading scorer Semaj Christon, who averaged 17 points as a sophomore and decided to go to the NBA. Center Matt Stainbrook is the top returning scorer at 10.6 points per game.
