The Associated Press | August 26, 2014 Memphis brings in transfers Johnson, Godfrey Share MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis has added a pair of transfers by bringing in guard Kedren Johnson from Vanderbilt and forward Calvin Godfrey from Southern. The additions of both players were announced Monday in a school release. Godfrey and Johnson are both seeking NCAA waivers that would allow them to play for Memphis immediately. If their waivers aren't granted, they'd have to sit out a season before becoming eligible to play for the Tigers in 2015-16. Johnson, who is 6-foot-4, averaged 13.5 points and 3.6 assists per game in 2012-13, but he sat out the 2013-14 season for violating a university policy. Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings announced last week that Johnson wouldn't be allowed to rejoin the Commodores. Godfrey, who is 6-8, averaged 13.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game for Southern last season.
