WEST HAVEN, Conn. -- Eric Anderson recorded the first triple-double in New Haven men's basketball history with 26 points, 28 rebounds and 10 assists as the Chargers won a thriller against Saint Anselm 78-76 in overtime at Charger Gymnasium on Wednesday afternoon.
With the win, New Haven is now 7-4 overall while Saint Anselm falls to 8-2.
Anderson's triple-double is the first in the Northeast-10 Conference this season and the second in the East Region in 2014-15. The last triple-double in the NE-10 was by Assumption's Ryan Rozsnacki on January 25, 2012 against Saint Michael's. Anderson's 28 rebounds in the game are also an NCAA Division II single-game high this season and are the most since Nathan Schumacher for Oakland City against Free Will Baptist on January 19, 2010.
