BC walk-on gets scholarship for Christmas

It's not often that a coach gives his players gifts for the holidays.

But that's almost what happened when Boston College head coach Jim Christian gave his last locker room speech before winter break.

Steve Perpiglia, a senior walk-on who had been named one of the Eagles' team captains earlier this season, was surprised with a scholarship following BC's win over Fordham on Dec. 22.

There aren't many better ways to start the holidays.
