Reactions to the Oklahoma-Kansas 3OT game

The phrase instant classic gets thrown around way too easily in today's sports world. But every once in a while those 14 letters are the best way to describe what happened the night before in college sports.



In case you missed it, it took three overtimes for No. 1 Kansas to defeat No. 2 Oklahoma 109-106 on Monday night in Allen Fieldhouse -- making it one of the finer games played in the legendary arena.

The game was the 40th time the Nos. 1 and 2 teams in the Associated Press poll faced off and the contest lived up to its billing from start to finish. The fifth overtime game between top-2 teams featured 13 ties, 13 lead changes, and both teams rallying from deficits of 10 points or more in front of a raucous KU crowd.

The Internet took notice of the game as an old friend helped us get through the drama.

But don't think the guys who call the games in March, weren't a little bit excited about this game in January.

Otherwise, the Internet reacted to this game as you would expect.

So let's mark our calendars now for the rematch -- OK?
