LSU awards scholarship to walk-on guard

One of the coolest moments in college sports is when a walk-on works hard, overcomes the odds and earns a scholarship.

That’s exactly what happened for an LSU Tiger on Friday. Henry Shortess, a junior guard, received a scholarship during a team meeting run by head coach Johnny Jones. Take a look:

It’s so fun to see Shortess’ teammates rally around him in celebration at the end of the video. It had to have been a special moment for the junior guard, who has appeared in five games for the Tigers this season.
