Georgia Southern wins on incredible 4-point play in the final seconds

With his team down three points to Appalachian State last night, Georgia Southern's Mike Hughes heaved a last-second shot with the hope of sending the game to overtime. The ending turned out to be even better.

Hughes was fouled as he drained a 3-pointer from 35 feet with 0.8 seconds left and completed the 4-point play to give Georgia Southern a 101-100 road victory.

Watch how the final seconds unfolded:

And that is a reason why the Sun Belt Conference has the "fun belt" nickname.

Both Georgia Southern and Appalachian State are now 3-5 in conference play. Appalachian State's Frank Eaves hit nine threes for a game-high 37 points and freshman Ronshad Shabazz added 29 points. Tookie Brown finished with a season-high 34 points for Georgia Southern.

Hughes had 19 points and a career-high nine rebounds, but his shot will go down as one of the best endings this season. Well done, Hughes.
