New Oklahoma basketball office features Hield, Griffin

Oklahoma athletics were wildly successful in the 2015-16 school year. The football team reached the College Football Playoff semifinals, the softball team won the national championship and several other sports had successful campaigns.

Basketball was one of those sports. The Sooners reached the 2016 Final Four behind Buddy Hield and an exhilarating cast of 3-point shooters. It would be easy to assume that Hield is the most popular hoops star in Oklahoma history -- until you remember that Blake Griffin posted 22.7 points and 14.4 rebounds per game for OU in 2008-09. It’s a real debate.
