There is nothing quite like the bond between a coach and a player. Marcus Paige had a storied four-year career in Chapel Hill for the Tar Heels, and it’s apparent that he and head coach Roy Williams were very close.
So much so, in fact, that Williams attended his former point guard’s NBA Summer League game on Tuesday. Paige was selected in the second round of the 2016 draft by the Brooklyn Nets, but was traded to the Utah Jazz.

Paige’s North Carolina career meant the world to him, as his amazing Senior Day speech was one for the ages. Williams was clearly a part of many of Paige’s UNC memories, as the speech left the coach in tears:
It’s cool to see the player-coach relationship extend beyond the college days. Best of luck to Paige at the next level.
