Krzyzewski delivers touching tribute to Jim Valvano

Duke takes on Florida in The Jimmy V Classic tonight, which is an event that’s purpose is to raise money for cancer research. It’s also a celebration of former North Carolina State head coach Jim Valvano, who passed away in 1993.

Krzyzewski and Valvano were extremely close, and Coach K recently opened up about his friend in a conversation with Dear World. Asked if Krzyzewski remembers the last thing he said to Valvano, Coach K replies, “You know I do not remember the last thing. And the reason I don’t is because I thought he would live forever.”

Good stuff from Coach K. Purdue takes on Arizona State tonight at Madison Square Garden before the Blue Devils square off against the Gators.
