Unranked Eastern New Mexico went into Albuquerque, New Mexico for the RMAC-LSC Challenge as the underdogs against No. 16 Fort Lewis. They left the victors, in a thrilling 73-72 upset.

Senior guard Lamarquis Thompson led all scorers in the game with 23 points. He was a perfect 4-for-4 from 3-point land. None was bigger than the miracle heave from the corner with his Greyhounds trailing 72-70 and a mere second left on the clock.

Eastern New Mexico certainly opened the season on the right foot. The Greyhounds remain in Albuquerque, where they look to improve their 1-0 start against New Mexico Highlands in the next RMAC-LSC Challenge game.
