When does the 2019-20 men's college basketball season start?

The 2019-20 Division I men's college basketball season begins on Tuesday, Nov. 5 when Kansas plays Duke in the Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden. Immediately following that game will be Michigan State vs. Kentucky on the same floor, which should make for an epic opening night of hoops after seven long months off.

The first few weeks of the year will be packed with exciting tournaments like the Champions Classic, as early-season tournaments typically run from mid-November to late-December to kick off the new season.
