LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -Angel McCoughtry scored 31 points - including four free throws in the final 20 seconds - as No. 10 Louisville held off struggling No. 17 Rutgers 64-59 on Sunday.

The Cardinals (16-1, 3-0 Big East) won their 11th straight behind their All-American forward and a suffocating defense that held the Scarlet Knights (8-5, 0-2) to 36 percent shooting and forced 21 turnovers.

Rutgers guard Epiphanny Prince had a season-high 29 points on her 21st birthday and Kia Vaughn added 15 points and 13 boards, but the duo couldn't stop the Scarlet Knights from dropping their third straight for the first time in more than five years.

McCoughtry scored Louisville's first 12 points and then helped the Cardinals ward off a pair of second-half surges despite missing all nine of their 3-point attempts.

The Cardinals won it at the foul line, making 32-of-42 free throws while Rutgers was just 9-of-17.
