SCRANTON, Pa. - The Cortland women's basketball team lost at Scranton, 51-45, in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament. The Red Dragons finish the season with a 24-5 record, while Scranton is now 25-4 and advances to the "sweet 16" next week.

Sophomore Jennifer Patten, junior Jessica Laing and freshman Michelle Volpini each scored 10 points for the Red Dragons. Senior Ali Canale added eight points in her final collegiate game. Canale started all 116 games of her collegiate career, a new school record.

Patten grabbed 11 rebounds and Laing finished with 10 rebounds.

Cortland shot just 24 percent from the floor, including 18 percent (5-of-28) in the second half. The Red Dragons made only 3-of-24 three-pointers (13 percent). The Red Dragons played tough defense as well, holding the Lady Royals to 27 percent from the floor (15-of-56).
