TAHLEQUAH, Okla. -- Second-seeded Northwest Missouri State shot a season-high 65 percent from the floor in its opening round 92-73 victory in the NCAA South Central regional against Texas Woman's on Friday afternoon. Gentry Dietz led the Bearcats with 27 points.

All five Bearcat (26-4) starters scored in double figures in the win. Gabby Curtis scored 19 points and had a season-high eight assists. Abby Henry scored 15 points, and for the fourth time this season set a career-high with nine assists. Kyla Roehrig recorded her 14th double-double of the year with a 12-point, 14-rebound performance.

Northwest came out for the fourth consecutive game on fire, building a quick 18-4 lead within the first 5 minutes of the game. The Bearcats continued their hot shooting throughout the half, shooting 72 percent from the floor in the opening half and carried a 50-37 lead into halftime.

Both teams shot well in the second half, with Northwest shooting 58 percent and the Pioneers (22-11) shot nearly 52 percent in the second stanza. When Texas Woman's cut the Bearcat lead to 10 at 52-42 with just under 18 minutes to play, the Bearcats exploded offensively, going on a 30-10 run over the next 11 minutes and held its biggest lead of the game at 82-52 with 7 minutes to go.

Texas Woman's went on a nice spurt and cut the Bearcat lead to 16 with 3:44 left, but Northwest wouldn't let the Pioneers get any closer and cruised down the stretch.

Northwest's 26 wins this season set a new program-record.
