Top-ranked DePauw starts strong

DANVILLE, Ky. -- No. 1 DePauw scored the game's first seven points to start a 21-2 run and cruised to a 63-45 win against Millikin at the Lee's Famous Recipe/Hampton Inn Classic hosted by Centre.

The Tigers improved to 3-0 with their 37th consecutive overall win and 56th consecutive regular season victory. The Big Blue dropped to 3-1.

Savannah Trees paced DePauw with 19 points, while Alison Stephens added 12. Erin McGinnis grabbed a career-high eight rebounds and Stephens added seven as the Tigers held a 37-30 edge on the boards.

Holly Haskins was Millikin's lone double-figure scorer with 12 points and Bria Williams grabbed six rebounds.

DIII football: DePauw hands Denison its first loss

DePauw's defense sacked Denison quarterbacks six times, held the Big Red to 12 rushing yards and picked off four passes, while the offense scored 24 first-half points on the way to a 30-16 North Coast Athletic Conference win over 22nd-ranked and previously unbeaten Denison.
