UCLA practices Australian accents prior to trip

Plenty of college basketball programs – men’s and women’s – have traveled internationally this summer for a unique early tune-up for the regular season and a chance to explore exciting foreign locations.

But perhaps no other program has as much practice gearing up their accents for the country it is visiting as the UCLA women’s basketball team.

The Bruins travel to Australia on Thursday to start a 12-day tour with four games to be played in Brisbane, Cairns and Sydney. Junior Chrissy Baird and redshirt senior Nicole Kornet took some time to show off their versions of the Australian accent and to provide some “Australian 101” tips on Twitter.

It seems like UCLA will fit in seamlessly Down Under over the next two weeks.
