Beach volleyball: The best photos from the 2017 season

Back in May, the USC Trojans claimed the 2017 beach volleyball national title, marking the team's second championship in a row.

Led by head coach Anna Collier, USC defeated Pepperdine 3-2 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Although another exciting season has passed, beach volleyball fans can already look forward to what should be another great year of action in the sand. 

While we anxiously await for the upcoming season, here are some of the best photos from the 2017 season to help us reminisce:  

Nicole McNamara of UCLA digs the ball while playing against USC at Zuma Beach in Malibu, California back in March. 

Stanford's Kathryn Plummer and Jenna Gray were an impressive freshman duo throughout the 2017 season. 

Hawaii's Hannah Zalopany, who made the All-Tournament team at the national championship in Gulf Shores, rises to spike the ball against Pepperdine. Hawaii finished with a record of 29-7 in 2017, a program best. 

Florida State celebrated the program's first-ever win over Pepperdine on April 14. The win marked the Seminoles 24th straight win at home at the time.
