WINNECONNE, Wis. -- Top-ranked North Central (Ill.) captured the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational for the fourth consecutive year on Saturday afternoon, besting the field as four Cardinal runners finished among the top 10 individual finishers at the Lake Breeze Golf Course.

The Cardinals blew away the 47-team field that featured 12 teams ranked in the most recent NCAA Division III coaches' poll, tallying 49 points. Fifth-ranked Washington-St. Louis was a distant second with 137 points followed by conference rival and 29th-ranked Wheaton (Ill.) with 154 points. Third-ranked Calvin was fourth with a team score of 156 with the host and eighth-ranked Titans rounding out the top five with a team tally of 158.

Matt Perez and Dan Kerley paced the Cardinals, finishing back-to-back in fourth and fifth places. Perez traversed the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, seven seconds, with Kerley finishing four seconds later.

Matt Brinkmeier checked in at ninth place with a time of 25:17 while John Crain was the fourth North Central runner across the line, finishing in 25:17, good enough for 10th place. Kevin Sparks was the fifth Cardinal to cross the tape, finishing 21st with a time of 25:35.

Tim Hird (25:43) and Yonatan Mascote (25:53) rounded out the varsity finishers for North Central, placing 24th and 37th, respectively,
