PRINCETON, N.J. -- Sophomore Jimmy Tarsnane's 13th place finish led fifth-ranked Iona to a ninth-place finish at the 2011 Princeton Invitational on Saturday morning. Tarsnane led the five Iona competitors in the event by finishing the 8K course in 25:12.

The Gaels sent a split-squad to compete at the event, as the other half of the team is set to run on Sunday at the Pre-National Invitational at the LaVern Gibson Championship Course in Terre Haute, Ind.

Senior Daniel Lipus finished in 36th overall (25:33) for Iona. Sophomores Quinn Raseman (26:07), Nick Lachman (26:54) and Brendan Farrell (27:50) each scored for the Gaels, as Iona gets geared up for the postseason races ahead.
