Newton paces way for Southern Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Southern Indiana freshman Alex Newton finished 29th out of 123 runners to pace a small group of Screaming Eagles in the open competition of the Indiana Intercollegiate Friday afternoon.

Newton completed the 8-kilometer course in 27 minutes, 53.40 seconds and was second amongst non-Division I attached competitors.

Seniors Seth O'Laughlin and David Gladys were 42nd and 43rd, respectively, while sophomore Austin Pryor and freshman Shane Wright were 56th and 71st, respectively.
