IDLE THIS WEEKEND
No. 5 MIT

In its previous meet, for the first time, UW-Eau Claire won the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the Minnesota. Wisconsin-La Crosse placed second in the meet behind the cross-state rivals.

St. Olaf entered the top 10 on Oct. 2 after Grant Wintheiser was second overall and team won the 16-team St. Olaf Invitational last Saturday afternoon.

The Blugold Invite will prove to have an impression on the national poll pending the action on Friday.

No. 3 Haverford, No. 8 Dickinson, No. 9 Williams at Paul Short Invitational

The 40th running of the Paul Short Run at Lehigh will happen on Saturday morning. Thirty ranked teams will be represented at the race, including No. Haverford, No. 8 Dickinson and No. 9 Williams.

The three teams will compete in the Gold division.

Third-ranked Haverford slipped out of a tied for the No. 2 spot in the national coaches' poll earlier this week, but will look to rebound this weekend behind Chris Stadler, who finished just behind Villanova’s No. 3 runner at the Main Line Invitational this past weekend.

Dickinson had last weekend off after a very successful start to the season.

Last weekend, No. 9 Williams swept the top-five spots in its home meet, the Purple Valley Classic.

Also from DIII are No. 15 SUNY Cortland, No. 19 Johns Hopkins and No. 28 Allegheny (Pa.).

No. 1 North Central (Ill.) at Notre Dame Invitational

Top-ranked North Central (Ill.) will compete in the Gold Race of the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday.

The Cardinals main competition will come in the form of Division II's No. 3 Grand Valley State.

More teams in the field include a regional rivalry between Division III’s No. 12 Wabash and No. 22 Calvin.

North Central (Ill.) remains atop the polls after winning the College of DuPage Invitational last weekend.

No. 4 Washington (Mo.) at Greater Louisville Classic

Fourth-ranked Washington (Mo.) — led by former national athlete of the week Drew Padgett — will take on No. 17 Carnegie Mellon at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.

Washington returns to action after taking a week off after winning a team title at the Wheaton Gil Dodds Invitational.

No. 6 Bowdoin at Hanover College Invitational

Hanover College will host the NCAA Division III pre-nationals meet on Saturday at the L.S. Ayres Athletic Complex. More than 20 teams from across the U.S. are committed to participate. Five ranked teams will compete, including No. 6 Bowdoin, No. 9 Trinity, No. 12 Wabash College, No. 22 Claremont-M-S and 26th-ranked Manchester.

Bowdoin is led by senior Coby Horowitz, who was recently named United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s athlete of the week and the New England Small College Athletic Conference’s performer of the week. The Polar Bears won first at the Bowdoin Invitational last week, keyed by senior Nicholas Saba, senior James Boeding and junior Kevin Hoose.
