EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- Southern Indiana senior Michael Callison finished seventh out of 70 runners to pace a small group of Screaming Eagles at the Evansville Invitational on Saturday morning at the UE Cross Country Course.

As a team, the seventh-ranked Screaming Eagles finished in sixth in the nine-team field.

Callison completed the 8-kilometer race in 26:04.46, less than 35 seconds off the winning pace set by Western Kentucky's David Mokone.

Freshmen Alex Newton and Nathan Hoffman aided the Eagles with finishes of 17th and 19th, respectively. USI posted a team score of 110 points, good enough for sixth in the nine-team field.

Marshall captured the team title with 46 points, while Western Kentucky and UE were second and third, respectively.

Southern Indiana stuns No. 8 Lewis 3-1 in DII women's volleyball

The University of Southern Indiana DII women's volleyball team toppled nationally-ranked No. 8 Lewis University by scores of 33-31,16-25, 25-20 and 25-23 at the Screaming Eagles Arena Friday night.
