Cross Country, Men's, Division III, North Central

Midwest Region

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- Top-ranked North Central (Ill.) won the Midwest Region title with 56 points, No. 2 Washington (Mo) took second with 101 points.

North Central (Ill.) and Washington (Mo.) will travel to Hanover, Ind. for the national championship on Nov. 23.

North Central had the individual champion. John Crain placed first with a time of 34:14.15.

Central Region

NORTHFIELD, Minn. -- Third-ranked St. Olaf and No. 10 Central (Iowa) finished first and second at the Central Region championship to earn automatic bids to the cross country national championship on Nov. 23.

St. Olaf placed three runners in the top 10, led by Grant Wintheiser who was the runner-up at 24:39.62.

Central (Iowa) had the individual champion in Eli Horton. Horton ran the 8k in 24:35.97.

New England Region

GORHAM, Maine -- Fifth-ranked Williams narrowly defeated T6 Middlebury by one point to take the New England Region title. Williams scored 77 points and Middlebury had 78. The teams will have the chance to compete again on Nov. 23 at the national championship in Hanover, Ind.

Connecticut College had the individual winner in Michael LeDuc.

Williams had the second-place runner in Colin Cotton.

Atlantic Region

GENESEO, N.Y. -- At the Atlantic Region championship Cortland State scored 37 points to take the title. Sixth-ranked NYU won second with 62 points.

Both teams earn bids to the national championship next Saturday in Hanover, Ind.

Cortland State placed three runners in the top 10, led by Atlantic regional champion Nick Marcantonio. Marcantonio paced the entire pack and finished the 8k in 25:03.50.

Mideast Region

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins took the region crown on Friday at the Mideast Region championships. The team placed first with 62 points overall.

Dickinson came in second with 88 points overall.

With the wins, both Johns Hopkins and Dickinson earn automatic bids to the NCAA national championship on Nov. 23.

Allegheny had the individual winner for the race. Bobby Over won the race in 24:29.

Johns Hopkins top-runner was Max Robinson who qualified for seventh.

Great Lakes Region

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Wabash won the Great Lakes title on Saturday with 60 points.

Calvin earned second place with 79 points.

Calvin and Wartburg will advance to the national championship, to be held on Nov. 23.

Paul Lewis from Albion won the individual title in 35:10.

Wabash was paced by Dalton Boyer who was the runner up. Boyer finished in 35:14.7.

West Region

CLAREMONT, Calif. --  Pomona-Pitzer won the West Region championship title. Pomona scored 71 team points for the win. Claremont-M-S took second with 78 points.

Occidental’s John Guzman won the race in 24:40.27.

Pomona-Pitzer’s leader was Benjamin Girodias who placed fourth overall.

South/Southeast Region

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Bridgewater (Va.) stole the regional title on Saturday. Bridgewater totaled 74 points in the race, runner-up Emory ran to 91 points. Both teams earn automatic bids to the national championship in Hanover, Ind., on Nov. 23.

Centre's John Kieffer won the 8k.

Luke Sohl paced Bridgewater, placing fourth overall.
