NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Williams vaulted from No. 7 to No. 1 in the USTFCCCA poll after winning its home invitational, the Purple Valley Classic, last Saturday.

In the first three weeks of the national poll, three different teams – Middlebury, MIT and Williams – have been voted the top teams in the nation by coaches from around the country. 

The Ephs (78 points) bested a 21-team field which included then-No. 1 MIT (83) and then-No. 3 Middlebury (87). Williams last won the NCAA title in 2004.

It is its first No. 1 ranking since Nov. 2nd of last year. They would finish third in the nation.
