Providence places 16th

Sischo
No. 1 Providence at New England Championships

BOSTON, Mass. -- Providence competed at the New England Championships at Franklin Park, Mass., on Saturday. The women finished 16th out of 43 teams.

Sophomore Katie Sischo was the first Friar to finish. Sischo finished 61st in at time of 18:45 for the 5km course. Sophomore Kathleen Powell was the second Friar to cross the line with an 80th-place finish (18:56).

Seniors Elizabeth DeVivo and Jackie McCarthy and freshman Keelin Hollowood rounded out the top-five places for the Friars. Devivo (18:57) and McCarthy (18:58) finished 84th and 85th respectively while Hollowood was inside the top-100 with a 99th-place finish (19:07).

The individual winner of the varsity race went to Boston University's Rosa Moriello in a time of 17:13 while New Hampshire took out the team title with 57 points.
