Mideast Region

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Top-ranked Johns Hopkins quite literally stole the show at the Mideast Regional championship on Saturday. The defending national champions outdistanced their runner up by nearly 70 points. Dickinson came in second with 94 points.

Both teams earn automatic bids to the national championship next Saturday.

Johns Hopkins had racers finish two-three-four-five, led by Hannah Oneda who ran the 6K race in 21:25.

Lebanon Valley’s Kelsey Patrick won the individual title in the race at 21:00.

Central Region

NORTHFIELD, Minn. – Third-ranked Wartburg placed two runners in the top 10 to claim the Central region championship. Wartburg took first with 86 points and Carleton placed second with 104.

Wartburg was led by Sammi Bruett in sixth place overall.

The race’s individual champion was St. Scholastica’s Chelsea Johnson. Johnson ran the 6k in 21:10.99.

Wartburg and Carleton both advance to national championship.

Great Lakes Region

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Fifth-ranked Calvin ran off with the Great Lakes title on Saturday, scoring 54 points. Its closest competitor was Oberlin who scored 104 overall points.

Calvin had the individual champion in Cassandra Vince. Vince ran the 6k in 31:27.8.

Next Saturday, Calvin and Oberlin will compete for the national championship title in Hanover, Ind.

New England Region

GORHAM, Maine – Sixth-ranked Williams ran to a first-place finish at the New England Region championship on Saturday. Williams scored 44 points for the title and No. 2 Middlebury scored 57 points for second place. Both teams earned automatic bids to the national championship race on Nov. 23.

Williams was paced by Kaleigh Kenny, Kenny won the race in a time of 21:02.18.

Midwest Region

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Chicago, No. 7 team in the nation, won the Midwest title on Saturday with a team score of 60.

Wisconsin-La Crosse came in second with 101 points. Both Chicago and UW-La Crosse earn automatic bids to the national championship on Nov. 23.

Washington (Mo.) had the individual champion at the race. Lucy Cheadle ran the 6k race in 21:31.31.

Chicago was paced by Catherine Young in third place.

West Region

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Eighth-ranked Claremont-M-S defeated Willamette in the West Region championship on Saturday.

Claremont-M-S and Willamette will advance to the national championship next Saturday in Nov. 23.

Willamette had the individual winner in the event. Michaela Freeby outran everyone with a time of 21:37.66.

Claremont-M-S was led by Sara Mostatabi, who placed third overall.

Atlantic Region

GENESEO, N.Y. – Ninth-ranked NYU took the team title at the Atlantic Region championship on Saturday with 97 points. St. Lawrence came in second with 103.

Both teams earned the right to advance to the national championship race on Nov. 23.

NYU was led by Emily Cousens who placed ninth overall.

Grace Tilton from RPI was the race’s individual champion. Tilton ran the 6k in 21:07.

South/Southeast Region

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Trinity (Texas) defeated Emory to become the regional champion on Saturday.

Nevertheless, both teams will advance to the national championships, with the one-two finish.

Trinity's Maddie Murphy was the individual champion. She finished the 6k in 21:33.89.
