ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- York (Pa.) handed No. 16 Elizabethtown its first home loss of the season with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday.

York (5-3) got the upper hand early with a goal from Madi Wilt in the 17th minute. Holly Martin sent a pass across the circle to a wide open Wilt at the right side of the cage.

The Blue Jays answered Wilt's score with two goals in 22 seconds. First, Elizabethtown was awarded a penalty stroke, which Nadine Yunginger converted for her second goal of the season at 24:34. A cross from Taylor Alwine outside the circle hit the post and Kendra Hudson was there to help the ball across the goal line for a 2-1 Elizabethtown lead.

Nearing the half, York scored again to tie the game. Katie Petrillo buried a shot off Ashton Burk's penalty corner into the right side of the cage.

Heavy pressure from the Spartans, who outshot Elizabethtown 9-2 in the second half, eventually got to the Blue Jays. On their final offensive sequence of the game, the Spartans earned a penalty corner that Petrillo delivered to Jillian Brezgel at the top of the circle. Brezgel's shot came in high on goalie Lindy Hamp who made the initial save, but could not stop Sandee Reich's rebound shot.

York turned around a 7-3 surplus in shots in the first half to finish the game with 12 to Elizabethtown's nine. The Spartans also led in corners 8-6.

Hamp made two saves and Samantha Earle recorded a defensive save for Elizabethtown. Curtis also stopped two shots for the Spartans.
