Overtime win

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. -- Just under four minutes into the overtime period, sophomore forward Keliann Margiotta put home the game winner to lead LIU Post to a 2-1 victory against East Stroudsburg on Monday afternoon

With the win, the Pioneers remain unbeaten at 12-0 on the season, while the Warriors fall to 6-7 overall.

During the 3:54 of overtime, the Pioneers attempted two shots and had two penalty corners, while the Warriors did not have a chance at either one. After a shot by senior forward Carlee Dragon was saved by ESU's Alexis Charles, junior forward Lyn-Marie Wilson secured the rebound and passed to her left to the wide open Margiotta who found the back of the net to end the game.

In regulation, the score remained 0-0 through the first 30 minutes of play until Margiotta sent a through ball down the right side of the field that freshman forward Melissa Quintanilla tracked down, dribbled through the defender's legs and drilled into the lower right corner of the goal.

Just 1:33 into the second half, ESU tied the score at 1-1 as Jessica Lawville corralled her own rebound and passed acrosse the front of the net to the wide open Ally Roth who finished for the goal.

On the game, the Pioneers held a slight advantage in shots at 12-10, while the Warriors held the advantage in penalty corners at a 9-6 clip.

Freshman Meredith Stocklin picked up her fifth win in goal making seven saves in the effort. Her counterpart, Charles, turned away four shots for ESU.
