Only two teams in the AFCA Coaches’ Poll lost this past weekend, to end an unpredictable regular season on a quiet note. Then-No. 13 Waynesburg lost it’s final game againt Washington & Jefferson 31-14.

The loss cost the Yellow Jackets more than their undefeated record as the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson snatched the Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship with the victory.

Then-No. 24 Baldwin-Wallace lost in its matchup against No. 11 Heidelberg 35-34 to drop out of the poll.

The top five held strong in the final poll, led by Mount Union at No. 1.

The NCAA playoffs start off with several strong first-round matchups, as Mount Union will face off against Christopher Newport, No. 2 Mary Hardin-Baylor will play Louisiana College, No. 3 St. Thomas will play St. Norbert, No. 4 Linfield will meet Pacific Lutheran and No. 5 Wesley will go against Mount Ida. The closest matchup, however, will be against No. 11 Heidelberg and No. 13 Wittenberg, as the two teams that are closest to each other in the poll.
