FCS institutions have now won 13 games against FBS opponents in 2013. The 13 wins ties the previous mark, set in 2000, for the most wins in a season against FBS schools. Of the 13 wins, six are against BCS conferences (American Athletic -- Connecticut, South Florida and Temple; Big 12 -- Iowa State and Kansas State; Pac-12 -- Oregon State). This is the most wins against BCS conferences in one season with the previous record being four in 2007. During the past two seasons, FCS has won 23 games against FBS competition. In the previous four seasons (2008-09-10-11), FCS won a grand total of 19.

ESPN College GameDay
ESPN College GameDay is headed to Fargo, N.D., for its weekly show prior to the North Dakota State-Delaware State game on Saturday. It marks the fourth time in its history that GameDay has visited a non-FBS venue. The others: FCS Florida A&M in 2008 and Penn in 2002, and Division III Williams in 2007.
Kurfis sets Patriot League record
Lehigh senior wide receiver Lee Kurfis is replacing one of the best wide receivers in Patriot League and school history in Ryan Spadola, but he’s showing that he’s just as capable as the former All-American turned NFL player. Kurfis became the first player in Patriot League or school history to put up back-to-back 200-yard receiving games when he totaled 10 catches for 211 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday against Monmouth. He has 17 catches for 433 yards and four scores this season to lead the FCS in receiving yards per game and total receiving yards, even though he has played one fewer game than the majority of players nationwide. Kurfis joined Spadola (2011), Fordham’s Javarus Dudley (2003) and Towson’s Jamal White (1999) as the only receivers in league history with multiple 200-yard games in the same season.
Familiar name leads UT-Martin
Tennessee-Martin is off to a 2-1 start with wins against nationally ranked Chattanooga and Central Arkansas. The new signal caller is junior Dylan Favre who was named Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week after leading his team to a 24-23 victory against No. 7 Central Arkansas. Favre happens to be the nephew of NFL legend Brett Favre. The junior transfer completed 14 of 19 passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns (with no interceptions) and rushed for a game-high 78 yards in the win against UCA. Through three games this season Favre has thrown for five touchdowns and rushed for another score.
NAU's rush king passes King
Northern Arizona’s Zach Bauman became the school’s all-time leading rusher on Saturday night, picking up 56 yards. Bauman surpassed Marcus King, who rushed for 3,794 career yards from 1998-2001. Bauman now ranks ninth all-time in Big Sky history with 3,803 yards. Bauman broke the record with a 4-yard run at the end of the first half. Bauman needs 214 yards to move into eighth place. Bauman needs 682 yards to move into fourth place.
Viking offense on a roll
Portland State has amassed at least 600 yards of offense in all three games this season. The Vikings rank second in the nation with an average of 615.7 yards of offense per game. PSU is fourth in the nation in rushing offense (295 yards per game) and eighth in passing (320.7 yards per game). The Vikings are also seventh in scoring offense (43.3 points per game). Portland State wide receiver Kasey Closs had 10 catches for 205 yards and a touchdown in last week’s 43-6 win against Humboldt State. Closs became the first Viking since Tremayne Kirkland in 2008 to have 200 receiving yards in a game.

• Montana State has not turned the ball over in three games. Bucknell and Western Illinois are the only other teams in FCS without a turnover.
• Southern Illinois will face Southeast Missouri State this Saturday at Busch Stadium in what will be the first college football game played in the St. Louis Cardinals’ home.
• The Butler Bulldogs will play host to the Big Green of Dartmouth in the first visit by an Ivy League member to the Butler Bowl. The Bulldogs will put their seven-game home win streak on the line.
• Coastal Carolina and Charleston Southern improved to 3-0. It's the first time the Big South has had two 3-0 teams in the same year.
• Charleston Southern’s Malcolm Dixon becomes the first QB in Big South history with back-to-back games with 100 yards rushing and passing.
Streaks
• Towson is currently on a seven-game winning streak, which is the second-longest in FCS behind North Dakota State’s 11-game streak. The team’s seven-game winning streak is its longest since 1984 when it won its first seven games.
• Sam Houston State set a school record with their 16th consecutive home victory with a 55-17 win against Texas Southern last Saturday. That is the longest current streak in the FCS.
Career Milestones
• Bethune-Cookman’s Anthony Jordan ran for a career-best 150 yards, on 21 carries, with one touchdown to lead the Wildcats to a 34-13 victory against FIU last week, marking the school’s first win against a FBS opponent. Jordan also caught three passes for 14 yards and accounted for 47 percent of the team’s total offense in the win.
