Indiana defeated Penn State 44-24 for its first win against the Nittany Lions. The Hoosiers had lost the previous 16 meetings.


Alabama beat Georgia State 45-3, marking the third consecutive game the Crimson Tide’s defense has held its opponent without a touchdown.


Boston College’s Andre Williams tied a school record with five touchdown runs in the Eagles' 48-27 victory against Army. He also momentarily tied BC’s single-game rushing record before losing a yard on the next play and not carrying the ball again. Williams finished with 263 yards.


SMU’s Garrett Gilbert set school records with seven touchdowns responsible for (five pass, two rush) and 469 passing yards. He is the first player with seven TD responsible for in a loss since Washington’s Keith Price against Baylor in the 2011 Alamo Bowl.


Troy's Eric Thomas caught a 20-yard TD pass with seven seconds left to lift the Trojans to a 34-33 victory against South Alabama. Thomas had two TD catches to become the Sun Belt Conference’s all-time leader in touchdown receptions with 26.


California lost to Washington State 44-21 for its ninth consecutive defeat, the longest active streak of any team in a BCS conference.


Miami (Ohio) lost to Central Michigan 21-9, the third time in five games the RedHawks were held to less than 10 points. Miami fired head coach Don Treadwell after an 0-5 start.


Florida State’s Jameis Winston threw five touchdown passes in the Seminoles’ 63-0 victory against Maryland, giving him 17 TD passes on the season. That’s the most by any player through his first five career games in the past 10 seasons.


Southern Mississippi lost to FIU 24-23, its 17th consecutive defeat the longest active streak in the nation. The Golden Eagles last won a football game when they defeated Nevada 24-17 on Christmas Eve in the 2011 Hawaii Bowl.


Tennessee lost to then-No. 6 Georgia 34-31 in overtime, the Volunteers’ 19th consecutive loss to ranked teams.


Georgia overcame a fourth-quarter deficit of at least seven points for the first time since 2006 against Virginia, snapping a 20-game losing streak when in that situation.


Kansas lost to Texas Tech 54-16, its 22nd consecutive defeat in the Big 12.


Fresno State’s Derek Carr has a passing touchdown in 25 consecutive games, the longest active streak in the FBS. Carr threw five TDs in the Bulldogs’ 61-14 win against Idaho.


Baylor scored 28 points in each of the first two quarters in a 73-42 win against West Virginia. The Bears have scored at least 28 points in six quarters this season. No other FBS team has more than two.


Buffalo defeated Eastern Michigan 42-14 to break the 40-point mark in back-to-back games for the first time since 1981.


Washington State’s Connor Halliday set a school record for most completions (41) and attempts (67) in a game in the Cougars’ 44-22 win against California. He threw for 521 yards to become the first Pac-12 player with 500 passing yards in a game since Arizona’s Willie Tuitama had 510 in 2007.


Oregon beat Colorado 57-16 for its fifth consecutive game of scoring 55 or more points, tied for the second-longest single-season streak in the FBS. Oklahoma had six consecutive games in 2008.


LSU scored 59 points in a victory against Mississippi State, the most points LSU has scored in an SEC game since 1997 (63 against Kentucky) .


Derrick Strozier returned a blocked field goal 62 yards for a touchdown in Tulane’s 24-21 victory against North Texas, the first blocked FG returned for a TD in school history.


Florida State beat then-No. 25 Maryland 63-0 to tie the largest margin of victory against a ranked team in the AP poll era. UCLA beat No. 11 Texas 66-3 in 1997. It’s also the largest margin of victory in a game pitting two ACC opponents.


Baylor defeated West Virginia 73-42 to become the first team to score at least 70 points in three consecutive games since LSU in 1930. The 73 points set a school record.


Baylor’s Lache Seastrunk has rushed for at least 100 yards in eight consecutive games, the longest active streak in the FBS. Seastrunk rushed for 172 yards against West Virginia.


Ohio State's Carlos Hyde ran for a career-high 168 yards in the Buckeyes' 40-30 victory against Northwestern. He scored three touchdowns.


Northern Illinois' Cameron Stingily ran for a career-high 266 yards in the Huskies' 38-24 victory against Kent State. He scored two touchdowns.


Baylor rolled up 369 yards in the first quarter of its win against West Virginia, the most by any team in any one quarter in the past 10 years.


Clemson’s Tajh Boyd threw for 455 yards in a 49-14 win against Syracuse to set break his previous record for passing yards in a game. He also threw five TD passes to match his school record.


Tulane recorded the 500th win in school history when Cairo Santos kicked a 27-yard field goal as time expired to give the Green Wave a 24-21 victory against North Texas.


Baylor had 864 yards of total offense in its win against West Virginia, breaking the Big 12 single-game record. It was also the most by any FBS team in the past 10 seasons. The most previously was 844 yards by Nevada in 2010.


Georgia’s Aaron Murray threw for 196 yards in the Bulldogs’ victory against Tennessee to give him 11,625 passing yards for his career and become the all-time leader in the SEC. He broke the record of 11,528 set by Georgia’s David Green from 2001-04.
