Expansion planned for Aillet Stadium

RUSTON, La. -- Louisiana Tech officials say they are getting ready to break ground in the spring for an expansion of Joe Aillet Stadium.

The project entails construction of a new end zone complex that will close the south end of the stadium.

At a Monday news conference, officials said the project is the next phase of Tech's "Quest for Excellence" capital campaign, which has already raised $3 million in donations.

Tech Athletics Director Tommy McClelland said groundbreaking on the facility is expected in the spring of 2014. It is projected to be ready for operations before the 2015 football season.
