GREENEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tusculum’s Bo Cordell set an Division II record for career total offense in his final college game Saturday while throwing for 569 yards in a 49-42 victory against Mars Hill.
Cordell went 34 of 56 with five touchdown passes and two interceptions Saturday to close his college career with 16,432 total yards. That broke the record of Jimmy Terwilliger, who had 16,064 yards in total offense for East Stroudsburg from 2003-06.
Cordell already owned the DII career records for yards passing and pass completions. Cordell’s final career totals rank him third in yards passing (16,265) and completions (1,397) and fourth in total offense among all players regardless of classification.
Houston Texans quarterback Case Keenum holds the overall career records in completions, yards passing and total offense. Keenum threw 1,546 completions for 19,217 yards and gained 20,114 yards in total offense for Houston from 2007-11.
