Indiana quarterback transfer Roberson added to Illinois State roster

Tre Roberson
NORMAL, Ill. -- Illinois State says former Indiana quarterback Tre Roberson has been added to the Redbirds roster.

Illinois State head coach Brock Spack said Monday that Roberson, a 6-foot-3, 203-pound redshirt junior, has enrolled and will have two years of eligibility left. Spack said he liked the fact that Roberson can run and throw on the run.

Roberson announced earlier this month he was leaving Indiana. Because Illinois State is a Football Championship Subdivision school, he'll be eligible to play right away.

He played in 23 games for the Hoosiers and threw for 20 touchdowns and 2,433 yards on 197-of-330 passing. Roberson broke a leg in 2012 as a sophomore and was granted a medical redshirt.
