The Friends of John Mackey and the Boomer Esiason Foundation announced on Tuesday the watch lists for the 14th annual Mackey Award and Rimington Trophy.
The Mackey Award is presented annually to college football's most outstanding tight end.
Penn State, Oklahoma and Oregon as the only schools with multiple selections to the 40-player preseason watch list.
Semifinalists for the Mackey Award will be announced on Nov. 17, and the 2014 Mackey finalists will be released on Nov. 24.
The Rimington Trophy is presented on an annual basis to the country’s best center. This year’s watch list includes 66 of college football’s top centers in Division I.
The SEC and Big Ten dominate the 2014 watch list with 11 and 10 individuals mentioned from each conference.
The winners of the Mackey Award and the Rimington Trophy will be announced as part of the Home Depot College Football Awards Show held on Dec. 11.
