Vandy, Houston announce two-game series

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Vanderbilt Commodores will play a home-and-home series with Houston in football starting in 2015.

The schools announced the deal Thursday.

Vanderbilt has played Houston only once before, and the Commodores beat Houston 41-24 in the BBVA Compass Bowl in January. Vanderbilt of the Southeastern Conference will visit Houston on Oct. 10, 2015, and the Cougars from the American Athletic Conference are scheduled to visit Nashville on Oct. 2, 2021.

Vanderbilt athletic director David Williams says the game puts the Commodores on the road in front of one of their largest alumni bases.
